Hollywood studios won a Copyright lawsuit against cyberlocker site, Hotfile.

MPAA, Motion Picture Association of America, filed a copyright lawsuit against a file sharing sites in 2011 and it was disputable and controversial. But according to Hollywood Reporter, a federal judge in Florida ruled that the cyberlocker site, Hotfile.com, is liable for copyright infringement.

The site was charged with enabling copyright infringement "on a mindboggling scale," and deemed "more egregious" than Napster, Grokster and Limewire and "indistinguishable" from Megaupload, the article added.

MPAA's members are the six major U.S. motion picture studios: Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures; Paramount Pictures Corporation; Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc.; Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation; Universal City Studios LLC; and Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.
